Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary BVR Subrahmanyam on Wednesday refuted the reports of deferment of Jammu and Kashmir panchayat and municipal polls in the state.
Maintaining that the polls will be held as per schedule, the chief secretary said: “There will be no change in the date of [municipal and panchayat] polls.”
Earlier, NDTV quoting sources, said that the polls are likely to be deferred in view of boycott announced by National Conference and the PDP.
Subrahmanyam was speaking to reporters at a function at SKICC in Srinagar.
