Ganderbal, April 27: Acting tough against the violation of Covid-19 SOPs and illegal encroachment of pootpaths and roadsides within the Municipal limits of Ganderbal town, the Executive Officer, Municipal Council Ganderbal, Naveed Aijaz Khan along with his checking squad on Tuesday conducted an extensive market checking drive.
EO made viable counseling to the individuals along the road regarding the Covid-19 safety measures and looked for the adherence of SOPs including proper use of face masks and social distancing as ordered by the District Magistrate.
Khan also imposed onspot fine on the erring traders and street vendors for not following the Covid-19 SOPs.
Meanwhile, many unhygienic and rotten vegetables and other food items were also destroyed. Besides, a cumulative fine of Rs 2300/- was also realized.
