Says if DGP means business why PSA on youth everyday

KNZ NEWS DESK

In South Kashmir sons are dragged in front of their mothers and in few places low rank police officers enjoy these operations and do hurt self respect of both mother and the son.

Jammu 03 March: Asking state police Chief Mr. S. P. Vaid to come clean on his claim of few youth who had joined militancy, now returning home, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has said that what state DGP is claiming doesn’t match to what is happening on the ground. While interacting with people of different sections in Jammu today Er. Rasheed said “DGP is absolutely right in claiming that the emotional relationship between a mother and a son has the power to make an impact on those joining militancy and even few may want to return back to their home but what about those who are being forced to join militancy because of atrocities of forces.

If Govt. believes in reconciliation and understands pain of mothers, why are youth being everyday booked under PSA, brought to police stations, humiliated and tortured in various police stations? It seems that DGP is unaware of the fact that in Hajin, Handwara, Awantipora, Shopian and other places dozens of youth have been booked under PSA during last three months, despite their mothers and respectable persons of the concerned locality begging local officers to let them free. If state police chief and his team understand so well the emotions, love and affection of mothers towards their children, why don’t police officers give any heed to those mothers who often beg at police stations for the release of their kids”.

Er. Rasheed said “What state DGP is claiming is quite contrast to the behavior of police force operating on ground especially in South Kashmir, where sons are dragged in front of their mothers and in few places low rank police officers enjoy these operations and do hurt self respect of both mother and the son. It is true no mother would wish his son to loose his life or see him getting out of sight but on many a times situation forces youth to take extreme step”.

Er. Rasheed appealed DGP to collect figures from various districts and find out that how many youth have been booked under PSA despite the fact that their mothers have begged before concerned officers to allow their children to live a peaceful life.
