Srinagar, June 27 (KNS): Former police officer and president Peace and Harmony J&K UT, advocate Farooq Ahmad Reshi on Monday formally joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi.
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Farooq met the Union Minister Parshottam Khodabhai Rupala, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairies at his residence along with Choudhary Aurangzeb, chairman State Hajj Committee Haryana.
The statement reads that he was welcomed in the party and was assured full help and support to make BJP a vibrant force in Jammu and Kashmir.
“During an hour long meeting with the Union Minister Parshottam Khodabhai Rupala, the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir was discussed threadbare with the minister promising all help and support to Adv Farooq Reshi in creating an environment of peace in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Parshottam said that Jammu and Kashmir holds tremendous potential in various sectors and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairies hold huge growth potential for ensuring jobs and other opportunities for the youth in the region.
He said that Adv Farooq Reshi will play a pivotal role in helping the youth to get them interested towards these sectors so that a new beginning is made towards making Jammu and Kashmir as a prosperous and developed region.
He said that a new leadership is emerging in Jammu and Kashmir and Adv Farooq Reshi is among those leaders who offer new hope for the people of the region.
“The party has gained more strength after Adv Farooq Reshi has become part of it in Jammu and Kashmir,” Rupala said. (KNS)
