An Uttar Pradesh Constable was suspended for posting an Instagram reel of himself performing stunts on a bike in uniform.
Upon receiving complaints about the video being circulated on social media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) launched an investigation into the matter.
Sandeep Kumar Chaubey, posted in Gorakhpur, was then suspended after it was found that he had indeed posted the video.
In the video, Constable Sandeep Kumar Chaubey is seen performing stunts on a racing bike while wearing his uniform. Along with the video, he also included a dialogue where a girl asks him, “Aren’t you afraid of your enemies?” To which he responds, “Why fear enemies…what is death…if not today, then tomorrow we will die. And if you must fear, fear God…why fear insects and spiders?”
SSP Dr Gaurav Grover stated that the Uttar Pradesh Police issued a directive on February 8, 2023, prohibiting any police personnel from posting private photos or videos on social media
Despite this directive, Constable Sandeep Kumar Chaubey violated the order by posting his video. Such actions are emblematic of a lack of discipline, and as a result, the Constable has been suspended,” the SSP said.
