Srinagar, Oct 6 : A man and his 11-year-ols son were injured after unknown gunmen opened fire upon them at Hanjin village of Kralgund in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday evening.
A police officer told GNS that suspected militants barged inside the house of Mohammad Altaf Khan and opened fire upon them. In the incident, Altaf and his minor son Waqif Altaf received bullet injuries.
Both the injured have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, the officer said.
Soon after the incident, a joint team of police, SOG, army and CRPF arrived on the spot and launched searches to nab the assailants. (GNS)
