Handwara/ Langate May 20 (KNO): In Handwara area of frontier district Kupwara, first time voters Monday said they vote for development and jobs while the voters in Langate segment said they vote to help to release those who are languishing in jails for years.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), one of the first time voters Ajaz Hassan said that he is casting his vote for development.

“Despite being in a modern era, people of Kashmir valley are nowhere in the race of development and job securities,” he said.

Hassan said, “Through this election, youngsters are optimistic about and expect good governance and a perfect representative of people.”

Another first time voter, Ahmed Irfan said the people of Handwara have always been voting in electing the government. “I believe in democracy and I am carrying forward the voting legacy.”

In the meantime, one of the first time voters Irfan Ahmad said that casting a vote can help to get released one prisoner.

Ahmad said that the Langate assembly constituency is not voting to get released only a selected prisoners but all those who are languishing there for years.

“This is my first vote of my life and I have dedicated it to those who are languishing in Jails for a many years. I believe that vote has a power to elect our preferred representative who will help the locals to get released their beloved ones from the jails,” he said.

Another first time voter in Langate, Irshad said, “Dozens of youth in the area are languishing in different jails of India. Even the leaders of our area are lodged in jails. I am casting my vote for their release.”—(KNO)
