Srinagar, 09 February 2020.On 08.02.2020 acting on a tip off, Karan Nagar Police raided a gambling site at Syed Mansoor Chowk & apprehended following gamblers:
1.Muneer Ahmad Ahanger S/O Mohd Shafi,
- Tanveer Ahmad Ahanger S/O Bashir Ahmad,
- Muzaffar Ahmad Ahanger S/O Bashir Ahmad R’s/O Karan Nagar Srinagar
- Bilal Ahmad Najar
S/O Ab. Aziz
R/O Channpora Srinagar and - Zahid Ahmad Ahanger S/O Gh. Nabi
R/O Soura Khalil Colony Srinagar.
From the spot stake money of Rs 5,540 and a set of playing cards were recovered.
In this connection case FIR No. 04/2020 under relevant sections Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Karan Nagar & investigations set into motion.
People of the area have appreciated the role of police for being prompt against such social evils .
The citizens have been requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the social crimes in the area and they have been assured that such drives will continue future also.
