At least fifty local right wing Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers including its State Vice President Bilal Parray for Srinagar have unanimously tendered their resignation to the party High Command against recent statement of BJP State Spokesman, Altaf Thakur who had asserted that Article 35-A being a discriminatory law must be abolished.
Sources however said BJP high command is yet to accept the resignation letters.
Meanwhile State spokes person Altaf Thakur denied news report saying only one BJP leader has resigned so far.
