SRINAGAR NOV 18:Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown tomorrow “as a mark of protest against search operations” and killing of dozens of militants.
In a statement, issued late Saturday, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, have asked people to observe complete hartal tomorrow.
The shutdown has been called as a mark of protest against the “cordon and search operations being carried out by Indian armed forces in the valley during which dozens of Resistance armed youth have been martyred since the last week in various areas including Hajin Pulwama zakura and other places.”
They said that a section of youth feels forced to “find expression to their political aspirations and will by resorting to armed means” because of stubbornness on the part of Government of India with regard to the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
JRL said that Government of India should stop the killings and instead resolve the internationally acknowledged Kashmir issue in accordance with internationally accepted means of dispute resolution so that precious human lives are not lost and peace and security prevails in the region.
