NEW DELHI, AUGUST 20: A Food Festival was inaugurated by Principal Resident Commissioners of J&K and Tamil Nadu, R.K.Gupta, Jasbir Singh Bajaj and N. Muruganandam respectively at J&K Guest House Chanakya Puri, New Delhi today.
This Food Festival has been organized by Jammu and Kashmir and its pairing state Tamil Nadu under the programme “EK BHARAT SHRESHTA BHARAT” (EBSB) launched by Prime Minister to undertake mutual engagements of states/UTs with one another according to a structured plan i.e. Tamil Nadu will organise its food festival today at J&K Guest House, Chanakya Puri, and J&K shall organise food festival on 27th of August, 2017 at Tamil Nadu House.
As part of this exercise the state of Tamil Nadu has organised the Food Festival as per the EBSB pairing and prepared its food and offered at J&K Guest House. The novelty of the programme is to show case the Culture Diversity, Culture Ethos, through Art and Craft Exhibition.
The special attraction of todays festival was the display of Traditional Handloom and Handicrafts of Tamil Nadu. The officials said that the occasion provided an opportunity to intermingle the culture of both the states through the flavour of tasting food which shows the feeling of National Integration and also to achieve an aim of greater bonding amongst the people of different states.
The officers and officials of both the states were also present on the occasion.
