Shopian Oct [KNZ]: Government forces last night raided the houses of active militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and allegedly vandalized the properties and arrested their close relatives, sources said.
Forces raided the residence of Adil Ahmad Malik and Umar Nazir Malik, two active militants of Malik Gund village and arrested two brothers of Umar and brother of Adil and his friend, local sources told Kashmir Reader.
In Turkwangam village forces allegedly vandalized the property of Zubair Ahmad Wani, an active militant and arrested his father, uncle and a guest.
At Babekhider village of Shopian forces allegedly vandalized property of another militant, Obaid Malla and arrested his father and brother, local sources said.
They alleged that at all places forces smashed windowpanes of the militant’s houses and damaged the properties including fridges, washing machines, televisions, utensils etc.
The force’s raids on militant’s houses have come a day after angry protesters set ablaze the residence of a PDP activist in Imamsahab area of the south Kashmir district.
The activist, Mohammad Ramzan was killed by militants two days back. A militant Shawkat Fallahi was also killed in the incident.
