SRINAGAR: A joint team headed by Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani Block Health Authority Pattan, Executive Magistrate Syed Faheem, SDPO & SHO Pattan today sealed the USG Clinic, X Ray plant, and Lab of Dar Medicate at Hayderbeigh Pattan for giving space and displaying the sign boards of a fake doctor.

An FIR has been lodged against the fake doctor, namely Tariq Ahmad Teli and Dar diagnostic centre, he said adding Teli is absconding while as his father and brother have been called to PS Pattan for questioning.
“One fails to understand that who allows these fake doctors to work on their chemist shops, as fact of the matter is that, a practitioner of modern medicine would first and foremost be registered with either Medical Council of India (MCI) or one of the state regulatory bodies Delhi Medical Council (DMC) or Punjab Medical Council (PMC) and so on, said one of top doctors in Kashmir,” said a top health practitioner while talking to Early Times.
He said that the registration number of one of the regulatory bodies has to be there on the prescription letterhead or the stamp of the doctor, and the consultation chamber should have a copy of the registration displayed on both prescriptions, as well as on stamp.
“For an instance, there are hundreds of MBBS doctors in our valley and if you see his/her qualifications on the board, it means that at least the doctor possesses the basic qualification of a real doctor,” the doctor said.
He further said that, there are various qualifications of the doctors like some are MD/MS Postgraduate degrees, which means that they have specialization in a particular field.
Both degrees are valid, and equivalent, just provided by different governing bodies.
“There is a mushroom growth of unregistered clinics who gives space randomly to any person. Scores of hoarding are seen on different chemist shops and these chemist shops are equally responsible for cheating who are looking how to make money by through illegal means and ways,” said a top cardiologist.
