June 27: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar has arrested four drug peddlers and seized contraband substance from their possession.
Based on specific information, a Police party from Police Station Nowhatta arrested four drug peddlers. They identified as Abdul Ahad Sheikh, Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, and Mst. Fahmeeda all residents of Tujgari Mohallah Nowhatta. Police has seized 350gms of Charas from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No 32/19 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Nowhatta and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
