Kupwara: A man was arrested in Handwara for duping around one dozen persons of Kashmir Valley by posing as a govt recruiting agent and giving them fake job offers from different govt agencies including top officials of Police department.
“We arrested Fayaz, 32, on a joint complaint filed by the victims that he asked for money and took money from many as recruiting fee for job offers that were fake,” said SDPO Handwara
The accussed is also a dismissed SPO who thought of this illegal innovative plan and “hired” the victims after dialling fake phone numbers and dramatically visiting offices of higher officials for recruting them.
When some of the victims who were given job offers on “letterheads” of top officials of Police department inquired about the joining dates from Handwara Police they were told they were never hired and that the offer letters were fake.
Simaltaneously police laid a trap and arrested Fayaz.
The accussed also told the victims, who were mostly graduates, that they were being “hired” for SPOs on honorium basis.
On learning that they were cheated, some of the victims filed a complaint with SSP Handwara Gulam Jeelani Wani against the man for misleading them and for issue fake orders which actullay never existed.
Fayaz Ahmad Bhat S/O Late Abdul Aziz Bhat R/o Vilgam was duping the youth for providing the job in govt department specifically police.He used to forge the documents by providing the fake appointment order which had the signature of top officials.Fayaz is apprehended at handwara while he was aliasing his name as Zahoor.
Manzoor Ahmad Khan s/o Wafadar Khan R/o Hygam Batpora kupara and Nazir Ah Mir S/O Gh Hassan R/0 Warsun kupwara was his recent victim.The cheater was booked under FIR no 387/017 US 420- 467 RPC .In this matter the police department requests the general public to remain cautious from such disguised Cheaters and to abstain from such fraudulent activities.
