GANDERBAL:Operation Drugs Free Ganderbal Continues.
In continuation to war against Drugs, J&K Police District Ganderbal arrested 02 Notorious Drug Peddlers alongwith huge Contraband Substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan, Police Party led by SHO PS Kangan Shri Mehboob Hussain during Naka Checking at Chinner tried to stop one person riding on Scooty bearing Regd.No. JK01AE-6458 in a suspicious manner. After seeing the police party, the said person tried to escape from the spot, but the police party present at the Naka act swiftly and caught hold of him. During his search, Nylon Bag laden on the Scooty in which Contraband Poppy Straw (Fukki) like substance was recovered, seized and the accused person who disclosed his identity as; Abdul Jabar Sheikh S/O Mohammad Fazal Sheikh R/O Ari Goripora Kangan was arrested on the spot and the Scooty was seized.
During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed that the Contraband Substance he was carrying alongwith him with an intention to sell it to one shopkeeper at Chinner. Furthermore, SSP Ganderbal constituted a special Police team to search the shop in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class Kangan. The Shop at Chinner was raided and during search of his Shop, 03 more bags of Contraband Poppy Straw (Fukki) like substance was recovered and seized and the shopkeeper was arrested who disclosed his identity as; Mohd Ramzan Rather S/O Habibullah Rather R/O Chinner Kangan. In total 33 Kgs, 862 Grams (Approx.) Contraband Poppy Straw (Fukki) was seized. It is pertinent to mention that both the arrested accused persons were involved in selling the Contraband Substances to the local youth.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 60/2024, under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Kangan & further investigation taken up.
