Ganderbal 02 Feb:Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Ganderbal Police today arrested 02 more drug peddlers in consecutive second day.
Police Party led by DO PP Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Headquarters laid a snap naka at Khanmohalla Pati Shalabugh road, during checking police party stopped Black colour Maruti 800 Bearing Regd. No.JK01U-7177 coming from Darmohalla side towards Narainbagh in which two persons on board were found carrying contraband substance.
During interrogation, the accused disclosed their identity as:
1.Basit Gulam S/O Gh Mohammad Sheikh R/O Padshahi Bagh Sginagar
- Ashiq Dar @ Nada S/O Abdul Hamid Dar R/O Sarai Dangarpora Sumbal.
During their search, it came to surface that both the accused were carrying contraband substance, 22 sealed Bottles of Codeine Phosphate. The accused were arrested and contraband substance was seized on the spot.
In this regard Case FIR No. 12/2022 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up.
General public has applauded the efforts of Police for eliminating the menace of drugs from the society. All people are also requested to co-operate with the Ganderbal Police so that Drug peddlers shall be curbed effectively in future also.
