Ganderbal (KNZ):During the intervening night of 20/21 May-2021, the officials of Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal seized 17 scants of illicit green timber from the possession of three accused persons namely Mudasir Ahmad Ganaie S/O Abdul Majid Ganaie, Mashooq Ahmad Dar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar Sons of Mohammad Abdulla Dar all residents of Arhama, Ganderbal while trying to smuggle it.
The accused attempted to overpower the officials and even loaded the scants of illicit timber into their vehicle Alto 800. Upon this information , Police party from PS Ganderbal rushed to the spot, seized the timber laden- vehicle in question and arrested the accused more arrests are expected .
In this connection case FIR No.79/2021 U/S 379,341,147,353 IPC & 26 Forest Act was registered in P/S Ganderbal and investigation swung into motion. More arrests expected.
Meanwhile, the report carried by certain section of media in this regard is refuted as contradictory and baseless.The investigation in the case is being conducted on merits.KNZ
