Ganderbal: District Police Ganderbal in its concerted efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, made yet another breakthrough in tackling drug peddlers.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, a snap naka was established at Wakoora by DO Shadipora SI Gulzar Hussain. During naka checking 01 suspicious person tried to flee away but was intercepted immediately by the Naka personnel and subjected to frisking during which a consignment of 2 KG Bung Patri (cannabis like material) was recovered from his possession. The said consignment was seized and accused identified as Tanveer Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Altaf Bhat R/o Wakoora , age 22 years apprehended on spot and booked in case FIR No. 11/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered in P/S Ganderbal .
While deliberating on this action of Police, SSP Ganderbal said that a series of back to back successful actions have been taken against drug peddlers and huge quantity of Contraband has been seized in the current month which would be enhanced in future to ward off drug menace and create a drugs free society.
