Ganderbal February 08:District Police Ganderbal in its recent action against drug dealings in at Ganderbal town has arrested two drug peddlers and seized contraband substance (brown sugar) from his possession.
A team from Police Post Shadipora has arrested two drug peddler identified as Tariq Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar R/O Negli Sopore and Abdul Rashid Mir S/O Haji Mohd Sultan R/O Amargrah. Contraband substance (Brown sugar 44 Grms)was recovered from his possession and one vehicle Toyota Etios bearing registration No. JK 01- 5390 is also seized.
A case FIR No. 18/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal. Both the accused has been formally arrested in the case.
Consistent efforts are being made by District Police Ganderbal to control and eradicate menace of drugs from society for which cooperation of general public is required. Those who share information regarding misuse of drugs shall be appreciated and their identity shall be kept secret.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.
