Ganderbal, April 2, 2025 – In a determined effort to curb the drug menace, District Police Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and seized a substantial quantity of contraband in the jurisdiction of Police Post (PP) Nagbal.
Acting on credible information, police discovered that Mohammad Shafi Sheikh, son of Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh, a resident of Busserbugh, Ganderbal, had concealed illicit substances in his residence. Following this lead, authorities swiftly registered Case FIR No. 48/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal.
A special police team, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class and independent witnesses, conducted a raid at the suspect’s home. The search resulted in the recovery of 3.616 kilograms of Bhang Patri, including seeds and tops. The accused was immediately taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
