October 01 (KNZ):On the directions of Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, a naka was laid by Police party of Police Station Gund at Surfraw, Gund which was headed by SHO Police Station Gund SI Abdul Rashid under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS.
During vehicle checking, a huge quantity 450 kgs of Minor Forest Produce including Kuth (costus), Podophyllum and Picrorhiza were recovered from the possession of one person namely Asif Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Mohammad R/O Surfraw, Gund.The illigal forest produce was being ferried by the accused in his Maruti van bearing registration number JK02 AN-3855 which was also seized on the spot.
In this regard case FIR number 42/2021 under sections 379 IPC, 26 Forest Act has been registered in Police Station Gund and investigation taken up.KNZ
