Ganderbal:The Jammu and Kashmir Police holds various youth – centric programs to engage them in constructive activities while adopting measures in promoting the sports, cultural and other activities in J&K.
These comprehensive measures of J&K Police Deptt. by providing an appropriate platform to the talented youth to give necessary exposure to the players/ artists at national level and further.
In this connection, a cycle race “Pedal for Peace and Fitness” was organised by District Police Ganderbal in the memory of Police Martyrs under the banner of “Police Martyr’s Memorial Sports Festival”.
The cycle race was flagged off by SSP Ganderbal Sh. Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS from Sumbal bridge to Manigam through NHM. The event was witnessed by large number of participants and some local sports lovers thronged on the road side to cheer up the participating racers.
SSP Ganderbal shared on the event that, “Ganderbal Police has expanded its role to promote sports and other activities in District Ganderbal with an aim to inspire the youth of the District towards sports for their overall development”.
SSP Ganderbal distributed cash prizes among winners viz; 2nd runner up Mohammad Amin, runner up Umar and Winner Bazil, participating certificates were also distributed to the remaining participants.
Besides, DySP HQRs Ganderbal Dr Abdul Majid-JKPS, DySP SDPO kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS and DySP Traffic Ganderbal Shri Faheem were also present on the said cycle race event.
