Ganderbal 18 Feb:Acting swiftly upon a reliable information about timber Smuggling at Hayanpalpora Kangan, SHO Police Station Kangan Inspector Turk Zahoor under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri- JKPS raided the specific location as mentioned above and seized illegal timber from the possession of one person namely Abdul Karim Kumar S/O Gh Mohd Kumar R/O Hayanpalpora Kangan.
However accused managed to give a slip, taking advantage of topography.
It is pertinent to mention here that police is continuously searching for the accused and all efforts are being made to nap him.
In this regard Case FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation into matter has also been taken up.
Acting tough against timber smugglers, Ganderbal Police assures general public that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold from the plunder.
The efforts of District Police Ganderbal has been highly applauded by the general public and Ganderbal Police assures that in future severe actions under law shall be taken against the culprits so that green forest cover shall be saved from destruction.
