Ganderbal, March 30: In a landmark community outreach effort, Ganderbal Police organized Thana Diwas in Waliwar, a remote hilly area under the jurisdiction of PS Lar. The event, aimed at fostering engagement and addressing public concerns, was presided over by SSP Ganderbal Ragav S, IPS, and attended by senior police officers, community representatives, and local residents.
For the first time, such an initiative was brought to the far-flung regions of Chanthan, Waliwar, and Chountwaliwar, giving farmers, teachers, traders, and Auqaf Committee members a platform to voice their concerns. SSP Ganderbal listened attentively, assuring the public that police-related grievances would be addressed promptly, while issues related to civil administration would be taken up with the concerned authorities on priority.
Highlighting the zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, SSP Ganderbal urged locals to report any drug-related activity, promising swift action. The event was met with overwhelming gratitude, with participants acknowledging the initiative as a crucial step in building trust and strengthening cooperation between law enforcement and the public.
This outreach reaffirms Ganderbal Police’s commitment to ensuring accessibility and trust even in the district’s most remote corners, fostering a safer and more cooperative society.
