Ganderbal, May 23 (KS): The mercury soared to 33.6°C in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, marking the season’s hottest day in the Kashmir valley during the month of May.
A meteorological department official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the maximum temperature of 33.6°C was recorded in Ganderbal district, followed by Qazigund at 32.6°C.
The data for other districts is as follows: Srinagar City = 32.2°C, Kupwara = 30.6°C, Kokarnag = 30.1°C, Pahalgam = 27.3°C, Baramulla = 32.1°C, Bandipora = 31.6°C, Budgam = 32.2°C, Pulwama = 32.2°C, Anantnag = 30.7°C, and Shopian = 31.4°C.
Pertinently, the Kashmir valley, including some parts of Jammu, is simmering as the heat wave has intensified across Jammu and Kashmir, and the weatherman here has predicted more hot and dry weather conditions for the next one week. (KS)
