Ganderbal, December 9【KNZ】 : The residents and shopkeepers of Duderhama Ganderbal on Saturday assembled in the main market and staged a strong protest against Power Development Department(PDD) for failing to provide proper electricity in the area.
According to report the protestors blocked Ganderbal-Manasbal road near District Hospital Ganderbal and raised slogans against PDD for making tall promises to public when the ground reality regarding their service is empathic.
They said that their children who are taking annual examination are unable to make preparations in the absence of electricity and harsh winter days.
Residents said that the department has been befooling them by assuring regular supply of electricity but on ground nothing concrete steps has been done and the people have been left with no other option but to come on roads.
Protesters alleged that their transformer had got damaged and is not being repaired and also there is no scheduled of power supply in their locality.
They were Demanding immediate installation of transformer in their area as soon as possible.
Later incharge SHO Ganderbal Akash Kohli , assured residents of raising the issue with concerned authorities.
When Kashmir News Zone Contacted Executive Officer PDD Ganderbal Javeed Ahmad he said that it is due to overloading that the transformer of the area has once again faced problems.
“The power agreements from the area are of 80kv while as the transformer is 630 kv. Now you can understand how much overloading is happening from the area. We will install the transformer in two three days but they should use electricity in a proper way.he added【KNZ】
