Srinagar October 18, 2018: Expressing his deep concern on the gross human rights violations at the hands of Indian occupation forces in the nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani condemned the brute use ofmilitary force against the civil population.Paying rich tributes to slain militantsof Fateh Kadal and Kakpora Pulwama, Syed Ali Geelani said our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation and for right to self-determination and reiterated his pledge to take the ongoing movement to its logical end. We will never allow any body to barter with the precious blood of martyrs, he said. We need to be aware of this and we are duty boundto safe guard their sacrifices and should desist from such activities which prove harmful for our movement, added Geelani.Terming the cold-blooded murder ofRaies Ahmad as cowardice and deplorable, the Hurriyat leader affirmed that none of the International laws pertaining to war does permit any such military actionagainst unarmed civilians.In a statement, Syed Ali Geelani demanded impartial investigations under War Crimes Tribunal of the United Nations against the forces involved in the custodial killing of the innocent youth and said that Jammu and Kashmir has become the most militarized zone in the world and the troops have been involved in the killing of innocent people under the garb of AFSPA.While condemning the police action against media men, terming it as “Highhandedness”, said that media persons were performing their professional duties and there was no legal or moral justification for thrashing them. The police are trampling all ethics and have virtually turned the state into police garrison and they have imposed restrictions on right to expression, Hurriyat chairman said.The Hurriyat chairman expressed his sympathy with journalists who were injured in the police action saidthat if media persons have been brutally thrashed by men in uniform in front of camera what can a common man expect? This shows us a grave and grim situation of Jammu and Kashmir.In is telephonic address to the mourners of the shaheed Showkat Ahmad Bhat of Padgampora Pulwama Hurriyat chairman said that India is suffering from arrogance of power and is using an imperialistic attitude in Jammu and Kashmir to crush our movement of right to self-determination. Since 1947 our nation has rendered unparalleled sacrifices, but India hasnot been able to suppress our passion of freedom with this brutality.Stressing upon people in general and youth in particular, Geelani Sahab said that we need to strengthen our faith and as a nation we need to the optimistic and by thegrace of Almighty Allah the Indian brute force will come to an end and we will Insha Allah get rid of this forceful military occupation.Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal to United Nations sought help and asked International community to come to the rescue and help to stop“genocide” in Jammu and Kashmir and initiate action against preparatory of these innocent killings.
