Ganderbal 02 Jan (KNZ):To combat illegal mining activities, a late-night raid was executed in the several area by a joint task force consisting of the Geology and Mining department, led by DMO Ganderbal Majid Aziz Bhat with the assistance of SHO Lar Khursheed Ahmad.
During the operation, four tractor involved in illegal mining activities and handed over to Lar Police Station.
The mobilization of the teams was highly efficient, resulting in the apprehension of the violators involved in this unlawful activity.
However the team was also raided Wussan Bela and seized 2 tractors on the spot
Six tractors after seizure were kept in the custody of police till realization of penalty from them as per the rules of Geology and Mining Department.
District Mining officer Ganderbal Majid Aziz Bhat said our department is continuously holding inspections during day time and night hours in the areas having apprehension of illegal mining activities in Ganderbal.KNZ
