Ganderbal 17 Oct (KNZ):Acting tough on the illegal mining at Nallah Sindh of district Ganderbal, District Mining Officer Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi directed for seizure of vehicles .
A team of Geology Mining Department Ganderbal along with SHO Lar Gulzar Ahmad visited Manigam and adjoining areas.
During the action against violators a total of Seven vehicles including 1 tipper and 6 tractors, were seized in a single day.
DMO Ganderbal Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi said that illegal mining in water channels poses a serious threat to the environment.
He said that unscientific mining without mining plan can have serious consequences and may lead to change of course of Nallah Sindh endangering habitations near these water bodies.
He further said the crackdown on illegal mining will continue and warned violators of tough action as per rules.KNZ
