Ganderbal 06 May (KNZ): A team of Geology and Mining department Ganderbal led by District Mineral Officer Majid Aziz Bhat with assistance of SHO Ganderbal Manzoor Ahmad on Saturday seized 4 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
The 4 vehicles including 2 tractors and 2 tippers involved in illegal transportation were seized at Ganderbal.
The District Mineral Officer further informed that the action has been initiated as per the MMDR Act.
The DMO said 4 vehicles seized by the department. All the vehicles after seizure were handed over to Police till the realization of penalty by the geology and mining department.
DMO also appealed drivers to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal mining practices.KNZ
