Ganderbal 23 Jan (KNZ):Dozens of sports lovers from Giraj area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district staged protests,demand remove encroachment which was constructed by some vested persons at play ground namely “Wani Maidan”.
The protesters said the ground was the only playing cricket for dozens villages of Giraj Ganderbal
They said “Due to illegal encroachment the youth would lose their play ground
They also said the youth from dozens villages play cricket here but unfortunately we don’t know why concerned patwari allow for construction in the field,”
They said some vested interested Property dealers during night hours and construct side walls of some land of cricket ground.
The protesting youth said they would oppose construction in the ground and are ready to fight against who encroached play ground
They said this play ground also registered in Sports council and they invested crores this play field last year.
When Contacted ACR Ganderbal he assured the encroachment will be removed and the people responsible shall be dealt with sternly under law.
He also said I have asked tehsildar to send team there and ensure prompt action.KNZ
