Government of India today decided to amend Presidential Order or 1954 regarding Article 35-A partially in a Cabinet meeting.
Once the Ordinance is issued, it would pave the way for bringing persons residing in the areas adjoining International Border within the ambit of reservation at par with persons living in areas adjoining Actual Line of Control.Union Cabinet amends the article 35A through an ordinance. The amendment is regarding jobs & reservations. Especially for persons around border areas and adjoining LoC. Promotion in service to Scheduled Castes, Schedules Tribes and 10% for economically weaker sections.
