Srinagar, April 3(GNS): The Government on Thursday enhanced assistance for poor girls of marriagble age under State Marriage Assistance scheme.
According to an order, a copy which lies with GNS, the girls who belong to AAY ration card holder families shall be paid one-time assistance of Rs 75000 under the scheme.
Similarly those belonging to the families having PHH ration card shall be paid Rs 50,000 as assistance under the scheme.
“In partial modification to Government Order No.49-JK(SWD) of 2022 dated 22.03.2022, sanction is hereby accorded to the enhancement of financial assistance from Rs.50,000/- to Rs.75,000/- (one time) to poor girls of marriageable age belonging to AAY ration card holder families only under Marriage Assistance Scheme,” the order reads, adding, “In case of poor girls of marriageable age belonging to PHH ration card holder families, the financial assistance shall remain same i.e., Rs.50,000/- (one time). Accordingly, amendment to Government Order No.49-JK(SWD) of 2022 dated 22.03.2022 annexed as ‘A’ is also incorporated. This order shall be effective from 01.04.2025 onwards,”.(GNS)
