Asks officers to send nominations, recommendations before Nov 25

Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir administration has notified the procedure for conferment of government awards in different fields on every Republic Day.
Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary to the government issued an order in this regard, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The order states that the Jammu and Kashmir Government Awards shall be conferred for excellence in different fields on the eve of Republic Day every year.
It also reads that, “As per the scheme, the nominations for granting J&K government Awards shall be made by social organization, sports bodies, NGOs, universities, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.”
It also includes Administrative Secretaries in relation to awards for Meritorious Public Service, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.
According to the official document, “All the concerned are requested to send suitable nominations, recommendations in respect of eligible persons, organizations, along-with citation(s) and supporting documents by or before 25th of November, 2021 for consideration for conferment of award on the eve of Republic Day, 2022.”
As per the order, the awards shall be conferred in the field of bravery, for achievements in the field of literature, for performing art, for excellence in art and crafts, for social reforms and empowerment.
The awards include: award for meritorious public service (Two awards shall be reserved for non-gazetted officials), award for lifetime achievements in any other field, award for outstanding sports person, award for outstanding media person, award for outstanding environmentalist, award for outstanding industrial entrepreneurship—(KNO)
