The Prophet (PBUH) said,

[ Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime ,

And the bright (white) days are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth. ]

The scholars have permitted to combine both intentions, the intention of fasting the white days and the intention of fasting the six days of Shawwal.
