Security grid intact, will ensure peaceful I-Day celebrations: SP Sopore

Baramulla, Aug 14: In the lead-up to Independence Day, north Kashmir’s Baramulla district witnessed a historic display of patriotism as a 2500-meter-long Tiranga rally was held, which drew hundreds of participants in a remarkable show of unity.
According to the news agency Kashmir News Observer, the rally began at Watergam Rafiabad and culminated at Hadipora in the Sopore area, with enthusiastic involvement from students, locals, police personnel and other government employees.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla; and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore, Divya D.
DC Sherpa, speaking to the KNO, expressed immense pride and joy at the overwhelming turnout. “It is truly a moment of pride to see such a large number of people participating in this rally,” he said.
SP Sopore, Divya D, also spoke on the sidelines of the event, expressing excitement for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. “We are fully prepared and looking forward to celebrating Independence Day at Khushal Stadium in Tulibal. The venue is open to all, and we encourage everyone to participate. This is the time to honour our martyrs and freedom fighters,” she said.
On security, SP Divya assured that the security grid in Sopore is intact. “Local police are committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for the Independence Day celebrations,” she said—(KNO)
