Pulwama 21 Nov【KNZ】:Despite restrictions, thousands of people attended the funeral of slain Hizbul Mujahideen militant in south Kashmir’s Tral of Pulwama district on Tuesday.
In a brief gunbattle at Seer Jagir village in Tral, a militant identified as Aadil Ahmad Chopan of Lurow Jagir area of Tral was killed in an encounter with police, CRPF and army on Monday at about 04 pm.
On Tuesday morning , People in huge numbers converged at the house of slain Aadil Ahmad , to offer funeral prayers and pay homage to the family. While men were seen chanting pro-freedom slogans, the women folk were beating their chests to mourn Aadil’s death.
However, all the entry points leading towards the native village of slain militant, were sealed by security forces. Despite that , thousands of people managed to reach the area to offer funeral prayers.
Eyewitnesses said that a masked militant also appeared in the funeral prayers and gave gunsalute to slain Aadil.
Chanting pro-freedom, pro-militants and anti-India slogans, Aadil was finally laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Lurow Jagir Tral.
Meanwhile, spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Tral area of Pulwama district following the death of the said militant in the area.
