A brief gathering of fruit growers was organized by the department of Horticulture Ganderbal today to facilitate the fruit growers with farm machinery/ equipments at their door steps at Wakura, Ganderbal.The brief gathering was given a complete technical package of practices for maintenance of their orchards with all possible cultural practices.
The gathering was attended by the interested fruit growers from Ganderbal district. The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, Director Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Ganderbal and Tehsildar Wakura were present on the occasion.During the exhibition the department had installed stalls in which latest machineries were showcased.
The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal along with Director Horticulture inspected these stalls during which the technical officials of the department briefed the about the functioning of these machines and equipments.On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner interacted with the farmers on various issues.
In his brief address to the gathering the Deputy Commissioner laid a stress for utilizing the services of departmental experts in the field of Horticulture and also machinery in the present modernized times. He further asked them to avail full benefits of the departmental schemes. Director Horticulture Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat who attended the farmers meet gave a brief of all the schemes implemented by the department of Horticulture.
The authorization for providing back ended assistance on the purchase of below detailed machinery was issued in favour of the genuine fruit growers by the Chief Horticulture Officer, Ganderbal like Motor Power Sprayers 54 No’s, Brush Cutters 58 No’s, Power weeders 23 No’s, Orchard Tractors 04 No’s. Besides this instant cases were processed for the purchase of farm-machinery with the admissible back ended assistance.
