Ganderbal, Sep 11: The special team of Anti Narcotics Task Force assisted by Jammu and Kashmir Police has made a success chase and recovered more than 800 kgs of poppy straw from Ladakh bound trucks in Sonamarg.
According to sources, the Anti Narcotics Task Force on a specific input chased two Ladakh bound trucks bearing Regd No: PB07AL-2229 and HP55B-0711 and caught hold of them at Sonamarg. The trucks were searched and aprox 800 kgs of the narcotic substance (poppy straw) was recovered. The drivers of both trucks were also arrested.
Meanwhile, further investigation in this regard has been taken up that may lead to further recoveries if transported to Ladakh region.
