Geelani condemns attack on Shabir Ahmed Shah in Delhi
Srinagar ,August 23, 2017; Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday convened a meeting of its executive body (Majlis Shoora) at Hyderpora to assess situation after recent raids by NIA over the residences of pro-freedom leadership and present prevailing situations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The representatives of all its constituents including Hakim Ab Rashid ( Muslim Democratic League ,Bilal Sidiqee ( Tehreek-e- Mazahmat) Mohammad Yusuf Mir(Muslim League) , Mohammad Yusuf Naqash ( Islamic political Party ) , Mohammad Yasin Attai ( Peoples League) , Yasmeen Raja ( Muslim Khawateen Markaz ) Mohammad Yusuf Nadeem ( Tehreek-e-Wahdat Islami ) , Zamrooda Habib ( Tehreek-e-Khawateen )Iqbal Shaheen ( Gojar Pahari forum ),Syed Mohammad Shafi ( People’s league), Firdous Ahmad ( DPM),Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani ( Mass Movement ) , Bashir Ahmad Andrabi , Imtiyaz Ahmad khan ( People’s freedom league) , Gh Nabi Sumji ( Muslim Conference ) & Gh Ahmad Gulzar ( Insaf Party) attended said meeting.
The participants reviewed and discussed the prevailing grim situation in state and it was observed that Indian authorities instead of implementing a realistic and political approach for the resolution of issue, are following their obsessive dogma.
The participants pledged to carry ongoing freedom movement to its logical end and it was observed that Huriyat conference despite all odds will pursue their mission for right to self-determination until the Kashmir issue is resolved as per UN resulutions and aspirations of people.
The participants in meeting observed that NIA has no role and it is unjustified and illogical to drag it in Kashmir. Referring to authorities, the participants in univocal voice said that they are using this agency as a war weapon against leadership & traders’ community and to defame and discredit freedom struggle.
Terming the NIA raids as illegitimate and illogical and detaining Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohd Altaf Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah, Meraj u Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahid ul Islam, Dr Nayem Geelani and Dr Naseem Geelani as politically motivated, the session appealed International organizations for human rights and urged to take their cognizance.
The meeting reviewed the concept of future strategy & work plans and the participants discussed the prevailing grim situation in state and reiterated their pledge to forge unity among its constituent units and fight tooth and nail the political, economic and cultural aggression at all levels.
All constituent members while hailing the selfless services rendered by Syed Ali Geelani condemned the disinformation campaign launched by NIA against him and his family members.
Referring to NIA raids, they said that all these state sponsored tactics and coercive measures won’t deter us from pursuing our mission, nor these coercions, suppressive and aggressive measures will make us to surrender.
In his presidential address Syed Ali Geelani while rejecting the Indian stand on Kashmir said that it is unrealistic and against all historical facts and hence India is occupying our state purely through its military might.
Geelani stressed members to forge close and intact relations with people and asked members to apprise them about the deceit being played by pro-Indian politicians about article 370 & 35 A.
It is better for them to repent for their wrongdoings & join people’s movement, said Geelani and they should apologies for the miseries they inflicted to nation, added he.
Syed Ali Geelani appointed Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji as Secretary General, Mohammad Yousuf Mir as Deputy Secretary General and Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar as chief spokesman for Hurriyat Conference.
Geelani in strong words condemned attack on Shabir Ahmad Shah in Patiala court and urged international community to take cognizance of serious matter and ensure safety of those arrested by NIA.
