Srinagar: Government forces Monday resorted to aerial firing and tear gas shelling in a Pulwama village after the cavalcade of IG CRPF came under stone pelting, sources said.
The incident took place at Tengpuna area of south Kashmir district.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that the cavalcade was on way to Awnantipora from Pulwama.
As soon as people of Tengpuna see the cavalcade scores of them started raising slogans and pelting stones, local sources said however they were dispersed by aerial firing and tear smoke shelling.
SSP Pulwama while confirming the incident to Kashmir Reader said “some miscreants pelted stones at the IG’s cavalcade”. However de denied any aerial firing by forces saying “some rear smoke shells were fired to disperse the miscreants.”
