Kulgam October 14: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction of minerals, police have arrested a person and seized a vehicle in Kulgam.
A police party of Police Post Mirbazar led by Incharge PP Mirbazar seized a vehicle (JCB) and arrested a driver namely Fazil Ahmad Tantray son of Mohd Akbar Tantray resident of Nowpora involved in illegal extraction from Vishaw river at Nowpora.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 226/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
