GANDERBAL: To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and taking Stringent action against Drug Peddlers, Ganderbal Police apprehended a Drug Peddler alongwith Contraband Substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan.
The Police Party led by SHO PS Kangan Insp. Zahoor Turk, under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS while checking at Chinner Naka saw a suspected person coming from wussan side towards kangan, who on seeing Police naka tried to flee away from the spot. But the Police Party get hold of him & during his personel search, Narcotic substance was recovered from his possession which was also seized on the spot. The accused disclosed his identity as: Farooq Ahmad Khan S/O Noor Mohd Khan R/O Bela Wassan.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 15/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Kangan and further investigation has been taken up.
The swift action by Ganderbal Police has been applauded by the general public. The Strict & legal action against Drug Peddlers will continue in future also. People are requested to co-operate with J&K Police in eliminating the severe menace of Drugs.
