Srinagar, Jan 7: Young social activist Inam Un Nabi today visited ailing mother of legendary figure Maqbool Bhat, 82-year old Shahmali Begum..
Terming her as synonym of resistance, Inam stated that Shahmali Begum has sacrificed all her sons in the struggle- four of them being martyrs and the fifth one being under often detentions.
Inam stated – “year after year, bullet after bullet, grave after grave..mother of nation Shahmali has been suffering since long and is ..still fearless, undeterred and steadfast..May Allah bless her.”
Inam observed – “ The unsolved Kashmir conflict has taken scores of innocent lives.. Shaheed Maqbool Bhat preferred death over slavery, subsequently tens of thousands of kashmiris laid their lives for their birth right of self determination, from Maqbool bhat to Afzal guru no oppressive measures could deter kashmiris, the sentiment of resolution of kashmir issue is so strong that 7l akh troopers with fingers on trigger who have pumped a million bullets over 3 decades are still wondering and clueless about our strength and resilience.”
Inam called upon the india and Pakistan to understand the pain of martyred motherhood in kashmir and resolve the conflict as soon as possible so tragedies stop.
