‘Unprecedented security measures for smooth conduct of Aug 15 functions in Valley: IGP Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNC): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Bhirdi Tuesday said unprecedented security measures are in place for the smooth conduct of August 15 in Kashmir while as recent terrorist activities have been kept in mind.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Vidhi Kumar Bhiduri said there is a great enthusiasm among school children and people while as the entry was open to all.
“We have put in place very unprecedented security measures across Kashmir for the smooth conduct of August 15 functions.
Multi-layer security grid is in place across Srinagar especially at the main venue Bakshi Stadium,” the IGP told reporters on the side-lines of a full-dress rehearsal program at the main venue. As per news agency—KNC, the IGP said that recent terrorist activities including the encounter at Kokernag have been kept in mind while framing the security plan for August 15.
Present on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Bhiduri said apart from the security arrangements, there is a great enthusiasm of school children and local residents.
“This is tip of ice berg and you will see people in large numbers on August 15,” he said, and reiterated that there is open invitation for all the residents of Kashmir to participate in the main function—(KNC)
