Kupwara, Nov 13 (KNO): The armies of India and pakistan Friday exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tandhar and Uri sectors in northern districts of Kashmir.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Pakistan army restored to unprovoked ceasefire violation and targeted the forward posts of the Indian army in this afternoon.
“The fire is being retaliated”, he said, adding that the Pakistani rangers restored targeted forward post at Tadd Karnah in Tangdhar sector.
The exchange of gunfire is going on while no reports of injury or loss of life was received so far.
Meanwhile, cross-border shelling also erupted in north Kashmir’s Uri sector.
Officials told KNO thay Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in Uri sector in Baramulla district.
Theu said Pakistani troops used heavy morter shells and targeted check posts in Hajipeer sector in the morning hours.
“Indian troops guarding the LoC have retaliated, resulting in exchange of fire which is going on,” they said.
