Ganderbal 29 Oct (KNZ): On 27-10-2022, Police Station Ganderbal received an information from reliable sources that fire broke out in some of the Shops/Dhabas at Haripora, Manigam. Owner of these shops Sheikh Ab Qayoom S/O. Sheikh Gh Qadir R/O. Haripora, Ganderbal has rented out these shop to Shakeel Ahamad Rather S/O. Ab Ahad Rather R/O. Haripora, Farooq Ahmad Meer S/O. Noor Mohammad Meer R/O. Dursuma, and Smt. Chain Kumari Sharma W/O. Tharuram Sharma R/O. Kangan.
On receiving the information regarding fire incident Fire service officials and Police Party of PS Ganderbal reached on the spot and brought the fire under control.
However all three shops got damaged badly because of wooden structures and flammable substances kept inside Dhabas viz. LPG , Edible oils and other Plastic Materials .
In this regard, Police Station Ganderbal initiated Preliminary Inquiry and FSL team reached at the incident site and collected samples to ascertain the cause of fire. During the investigation one of the worker of Sharma Dhaba namely Kuldeep kumar S/O. Bushan Das R/O. Aarnas Jammu, one lady namely Fatima Bano W/O Mohd Irfan Wani R/O Sidhra Jammu, at present residing in Sharma Dhaba as Guest of Smt. Chain kumari and other two shopkeepers were questioned who all stated that short-circuit was the cause of fire.
Moreover, during the process of preliminary investigation, Police tried to contact Smt. Chain Kumari W/O Tharuram Sharma R/o Kangan who is running Sharma Dhaba but she doesn’t respond and later it was confirmed that she was in Jammu at the time of fire incident.
However on 28-10-2022, She returned back at her Dhaba and alleged about the mischief.
The Statement of the lady has been recorded and the Preliminary Inquiry has been converted into an FIR of Arson under the relevant sections of Law. Ganderbal Police is investigating the incident thoroughly and will conclude the case on its merits.KNZ
