Ganderbal, September 22: Initiative for Sustainable Development and Peace (ISDP) a youth organization held its first Night Conference for the promotion of peace at Naranag Kangan on Friday and Saturday here.
Mr. Abid Baba an International freelance journalist, first Student from Kashmir selected for European exchange program, broadcaster at Radio Kashmir Srinagar and Dr. Ishrat from Quaid-e-Azam University Pakistan were the chief guests on the occasion.
During the Night Conference, the members discussed the pathways of peace, how in conflict areas Peace can be maintained.
They also discussed the Role of youth which is very important in order to bring positive change in the nation.
“The youth should learn to combine their enthusiasm with patience, realising the importance of living together”, said team ISDP.
“They should be responsible to defend the frontiers of Peace and Non-Violence”, they added.
The conference was attended by 30 members from different backgrounds including students and scholars like Irshad ul Haq from Department of Peace and conflict Studies at Islamic University Awantipora and others.
Others guests of the Conference were Suhail Mehraj who is the first Student from Kashmir to speak in U.N. Assembly and Kaiser Ahmad Rather who has attended 3 International Conferences and recently attended a conference in Lahore Pakistan.
With the slogan “Be The Change” for the youth, the Conference came to an end on Saturday Morning.
