Bandipora, July 11: Indian System of Medicine (ISM) Saturday organized a Health Workshop in Bandipora in collaboration with ‘Art of Living’ an NGO aiming at improving the immunity of the people with different exercises.
The workshop was chaired by Divisional Nodal Officer (ISM) Dr Iftikar Gazi while Ms Vandhana from Art of Living was also present on the occasion. Officers and Officials from various government departments of the district attend the workshop.
During the workshop experts taught powerful breathing techniques to handle any difficult or stressful situation besides increasing the lung capacity that help to keep fight COVID19. They said the unique breathing technique eliminates stress, fatigue and negative emotions such as anger, frustration and depression, leaving one calm yet energized, focused yet relaxed with resultants of reduced heart rate and blood pressure , Significant reductions in anxiety and Improved immune cell counts.
On the occasion Divisional Nodal Officer Dr Iftikhar urged the people to practice deep breathing exercises to increase their immunity. He said the COVID19 affects lungs and increasing lung capacity through deep breathing will help to fight the disease.
He said more such programs will be held in future to pass the message to the people especially the frontline workers. He said the ISM has also distributed immunity boosters medicines across the state among the employees and frontline workers including security forces to boost their immunity while they fight the COVID19.
